RSPCA Woodside Trustees

Connor Acton

Connor has chaired the Trustees for six years, guiding the branch through major milestones including the build of our on-site vets and the Peterborough merger.

Despite the old phrase “never work with animals or children”, he is a devoted animal lover and a Deputy Headteacher, bringing expertise in IT, Business, and leadership to the board

Betsy Malamah-Thomas

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse with over 15 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Business Management, Betsy brings extensive knowledge of administration, animal welfare, and veterinary medicine.

She currently holds a senior leadership role at one of Europe’s leading veterinary teaching hospitals and has broad experience in coaching, mentoring, and professional development.

Steve Kinchington

With extensive experience in finance and budgeting, Steve has served as our Treasurer since 2018, navigating the challenges of budget-keeping through recent cost-of-living pressures.

His love of animals began in childhood on his family’s smallholding, where he cared for a range of characters – aside from the cockerel that attacked him during egg runs.

Paula Clarke

A former NHS Chief Executive with over 20 years’ experience, Paula brings extensive leadership expertise to the board, along with a strong background in sales, marketing, and public relations.

A committed advocate for the environment and animal welfare, she lives with her dog Meg, an ex-Woodsider, and cares for five rescue horses and ponies.

Christine Page

Having worked as Head of Legal Services and Governance at the British Psychological Society, and as a solicitor within the charity sector, Christine brings a wealth of knowledge in charity governance and legal matters.

She spent her childhood on a farm, developing a lifelong passion for animals and their welfare that has stayed with her ever since.

Dave Morrish

Before retiring in 2000, Dave spent his career in IT. He joined RSPCA Woodside as a Volunteer Van Driver in 2005 and became a trustee in 2008.

He combines his love of animals with a passion for all things DIY, and lives locally with his two cats, Thomas and Archie, who are both ex-Woodsiders.

Grace Gough

A CIPD-qualified professional, Grace’s career has focused on HR with a specialism in recruitment and development. She has worked internationally, including in Hong Kong and Bangkok, and now leads a global Talent Engagement team for an international law firm.

Passionate about animal welfare, she has volunteered at animal shelters both locally and during her time abroad.

Martin Mannix

Martin brings extensive operational experience from his career in the private sector. Since 2009 he has worked in the NHS and is now Director of Estates and Facilities for Berkshire Healthcare NHS.

In his spare time, he sits on the judging panel for the Health Services Journal “Towards Net Zero” Awards and enjoys DIY, motorbikes, and scuba diving.
