Pet Food Bank
RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre run a pet food bank for anyone struggling to afford to feed their pets. No owners should have to choose between feeding themselves or their pets. We want to make sure pets don’t go hungry, and that they can stay with their loved ones, no matter what the current financial climate.
Please allow at least 1 working day between calling and collecting your pet package.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you setting up a community pet food bank?
Currently we receive regular calls from individuals and social services asking if we can supply free food as individuals are struggling to afford to be able to feed their pets, especially given the cost-of-living crisis. Additionally, we want to prevent more pets from coming into RSPCA Woodside’s Animal Centre.
Will the pet food bank be means tested?
Due to the cost-of-living crisis, lots of people are struggling, not just people on benefits. Additionally, we understand how difficult it can be for people to ask for help so pet food bank packages will be provided without judgement. Furthermore, we want to prevent as many pets from being given up to Woodside Animal Centre as possible. We have a significant waiting list for pets needing to be brought into the centre, and we want to help by ensuring that waiting list doesn’t get any longer.
Can I request my pet’s usual brand of food?
Yes, we will always try to keep the pet on the same diet if we have that in stock. However, we cannot guarantee it but will try to keep the pet food supplied as similar to the pet’s current diet as possible.
Are you able to provide pet food for small pets such as guinea pigs, rabbits and birds?
Yes, owners of small pets can use the pet food bank for food pellets.
Can the pet food bank provide other pet items such as cat litter?
Yes, the pet food bank can provide other pet items (depending on availability) such as cat litter. Please just ask on the phone and we will try to assist. We regret that we cannot provide pet accessories such as leads or harnesses etc.
