Sign Over a Pet
What do I do if my circumstances have changed?
We understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. Sometimes, circumstances change and you may find yourself unable to care for your pet in the way you’d like. Making the decision to part with a much-loved companion is never easy — and it’s often a last resort for many owners.
Before taking that step, we’ll do everything we can to help you explore all possible options. If you’re struggling, it may be worth considering:
- Friends or family: Is there someone close to you who could offer your pet a loving home?
- Behavioural concerns: Sometimes issues can be resolved with professional help. Speak to your vet or a qualified clinical animal behaviourist before making any final decisions.
- Financial support: If you’re finding it difficult to afford vet care, there are charities and schemes that may be able to help those on low incomes or certain benefits. Pet insurance can also help with unexpected costs in future.
If you’ve explored all these options and still feel you need to rehome your pet, we’ll do our best to help by taking your pet in for rehoming when space allows.

Please note that our space is limited, and priority must go to animals brought in by RSPCA inspectors or those most urgently in need. However, we’ll always do everything we can to support you and your pet through this process.
