Fostering
Volunteering as a foster carer is an incredibly rewarding way to support animals in need, and it’s ideal if you’d like to welcome an animal into your home without the permanent commitment of adoption. We’re always looking for compassionate foster carers to help care for the hundreds of animals that come into RSPCA Woodside every year.
Our dedicated foster carers provide safe, loving home environments for animals who aren’t yet ready to be rehomed. This may include animals recovering from surgery, pregnant cats, orphaned or hand-reared kittens, and animals involved in ongoing RSPCA cruelty investigations. Spending time in a home environment can help animals recover more quickly, develop confidence, and prepare for life in their future forever home.
All fostering expenses are fully covered by us, including food, equipment, and veterinary care. Fostering with RSPCA Woodside is flexible, and we always aim to match animals to foster homes that suit your lifestyle, commitments, and experience. Many of our foster families have children or already have pets at home.
Although it can be hard to say goodbye when a foster animal is ready for rehoming, it’s incredibly rewarding to know you’ve played a key role in giving them a second chance. And sometimes, foster carers become so-called “failed fosterers” and choose to adopt their foster animal permanently.
We’re currently introducing a new fostering system. For more information about fostering with RSPCA Woodside, please contact:
